Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Murfreesboro, TN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a contract position in Murfreesboro, TN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely results to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. The technician will work in a dynamic hospital environment and must possess excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and other areas as required.
– Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and calibration.
– Collect, prepare, and handle biological specimens following established protocols and safety procedures.
– Record, analyze, and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
– Adhere to quality control procedures and maintain comprehensive documentation of all laboratory activities.
– Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory procedures and policies.
– Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
– Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care and efficient laboratory operations.
– Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for charting and documentation.
– Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with industry standards and advancements.

Qualifications:
– Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
– Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
– Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) charting.
– Must possess a Real ID or valid passport.
– Ability to pass the credentialing process.
– Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

– Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
– Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
