We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Histotechnologist (HTL) to join our team at the VA Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY on a federal contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex histological procedures and ensuring the highest quality of tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Schedule:
– Monday through Friday
– 40 hours per week (full-time)
Compensation:
– Competitive salary: $46 – $52 per hour
– Paid Time Off (PTO)

Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic examination.
– Perform complex histological procedures, including embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting tissue sections.
– Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments used in histology.
– Ensure the proper labeling and documentation of specimens.
– Adhere to established laboratory protocols and safety guidelines.
– Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory personnel to ensure accurate and timely results.
– Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards.
– Maintain accurate records of procedures and results.
Qualifications:
– Must be a U.S. citizen.
– Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Histotechnologist.
– ASCP or AMT certification as a Histotechnologist.
– Graduation from an accredited school of histotechnology.
– Strong understanding of histological techniques and procedures.
– Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Strong communication skills.
