Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Boulder, CO 80303
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Monday through Friday 8am-5pm)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Boulder, CO. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience and will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to ensure the smooth functioning of our medical facility. This role involves both clinical and administrative duties, including rooming patients, taking vitals, collecting medical history, and handling patient communication via email and phone.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
– Room patients and prepare them for examination.
– Measure and record patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
– Obtain and document patient medical histories and chief complaints.
– Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
– Perform suture removal as directed by healthcare providers.
– Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Administrative Duties:
– Answer and manage email and phone communications with patients, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
– Assist the front desk with scheduling appointments, patient check-in/check-out, and maintaining patient records.
– Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow and service delivery.
Additional Responsibilities:
– Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
– Assist in inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
– Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
– Proficient in taking and recording vitals and medical histories.
– Experience with suture removal and specimen collection.
– Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on patient-centered care.
– Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
– Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills.
– High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
– Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.
