Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: FCI Danbury, Danbury, CT
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team at a Federal Facility in Danbury. The CMA will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical unit. This position requires a nationally certified CMA with expertise in basic life support and a minimum of one year of practical experience.

Key Responsibilities:
– Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care by preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and collecting specimens.
– Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records using medical software.
– Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure high-quality care.
– Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
– Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals.
– Prepare and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
– Support the healthcare team in emergency situations with Basic Life Support (BLS) skills.
– Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining patient files.
– Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance monitoring.
Qualifications:
– National certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
– Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
– Minimum of 1 year experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Proficiency in medical software and electronic health records.
– Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
– Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
– Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Contract Details:
