Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Plano, TX, 75082
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on back office responsibilities, working directly with Physician Assistants (PAs), managing patient check-out, performing vitals, handling prior authorizations, and conducting phone call triage. This position requires a minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate closely with Physician Assistants to support patient care and streamline clinic operations.
– Conduct patient check-out processes efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation and follow-up appointments are completed.
– Accurately measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
– Manage prior authorizations for medications and procedures, ensuring timely submission and follow-up.
– Perform phone call triage by assessing patient inquiries, providing appropriate guidance, and directing calls to the necessary healthcare provider.
– Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
– Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow within the clinic.
– Support the healthcare team with additional administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications:
– Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not required.
– Minimum of 2+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably with back office experience.
– Proficiency in measuring and recording patient vitals.
– Experience in managing prior authorizations and familiarity with insurance processes.
– Strong communication skills for phone call triage and interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
– Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
– Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Working Conditions:
– Full-time position with regular office hours. (Monday – Thursday 8am to 4pm, Friday 8am-12pm)
– Primarily back office duties with occasional front office support as needed.
– Collaborative work environment with a focus on patient care and team support.
