Job Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and proficient Medical Biller to join our healthcare team in Gatesville, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and insurance reimbursement processes. This position involves managing patient statements, processing insurance claims, and conducting patient follow-ups to ensure efficient billing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

– Utilize medical terminology knowledge to accurately interpret and process billing information.- Apply proficiency in coding systems (such as ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to ensure precise coding for services rendered.- Manage patient accounts, generate and distribute patient statements, and oversee collections.- Process insurance claims, ensuring timely submission and follow-up for reimbursement.- Conduct patient follow-ups to address billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment issues.- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.- Maintain accurate records of billing activities and update patient information as necessary.- Utilize computer and software systems to input, access, and manage billing data efficiently.- Demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all billing and coding activities.- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives to facilitate billing processes.

Qualifications:

– Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, and medical terms for accurate coding.- Experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II.- Proficient in electronic health records (EHRs) and medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Kareo, Medisoft).- High level of accuracy required to prevent claim denials and ensure compliance.- Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing policies.- Ability to interact professionally with providers, insurance representatives, and patients.

Education and Experience:

– High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing or coding preferred.
