Job Title: Medical Technologist

Location: Nashville, TN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team on a contract basis in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science and hold certification from ASCP or AMT. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively within a team environment to provide accurate and efficient laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform complex laboratory tests and procedures in various areas of the clinical laboratory, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and transfusion medicine.
– Analyze test results and communicate findings to the medical team for diagnosis and treatment.
– Ensure the accuracy and precision of laboratory results by adhering to quality control protocols and laboratory standards.
– Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshooting any issues to minimize downtime.
– Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and contribute to patient care decisions.
– Maintain laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
– Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols.
– Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in the field.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
– Certification as a Medical Technologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required.
– Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
– Valid Real ID or Passport.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
