Nurse Practitioner

Job Responsibilities:
– Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare to inmates
– Conduct examinations, take medical histories, and order/interpret lab tests and imaging studies
– Diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications
– Manage injuries (suturing, splinting, immobilizing) and respond to medical emergencies
– Perform minor surgical procedures using local anesthesia
– Document progress notes and coordinate outside consultations when clinically required
– Collaborate with staff and consulting physicians to evaluate and improve care programs
– Identify early signs of physical, mental, or emotional health issues
– Oversee daily clinic operations, conduct sick calls, and perform assessments
– Provide emergency services in the absence of the physician

Qualifications:
– Active and clean license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in any U.S. state
– AANP certification required (for NPs)
– 1+ year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
– Current CPR certification
