Phlebotomist – Danbury, CT

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist to join our team in Danbury, CT, under a federal contract. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of experience in phlebotomy and demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) charting, HIPAA compliance, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Title: Contract Phlebotomist
Location: Danbury, CT
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Daytime Hours (40 hours per week)
Compensation: $24-$27/HR

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform venipunctures and skin punctures competently and efficiently.
– Collect, label, and process blood specimens for laboratory testing.
– Ensure patient comfort and safety during blood collection procedures.
– Accurately enter patient data into electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
– Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
– Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
– Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and laboratory staff.
– Follow standard operating procedures and federal regulations.

Qualifications:
– Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
– Minimum of one year of experience as a Phlebotomist.
– Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
– Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and regulations.
– Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) charting.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
